In 2013, three Brothers of Sylvan Hills Lodge (below) received special recognition from the Grand Lodge of Arkansas for their efforts in cleaning and organizing the Grand Lodge office archives. Brothers Andy Miller, J.D. Sexton, and Jerry Hixson were presented with the
Grand Lodge Distinguished Service Award.

Many of Sylvan Hills' members have been active in the Masonic organization for women, known as the Order of the Eastern Star. Of the current membership, J.D. Sexton, Josh Bryan, and T.J. Henwood, among others, have all served at least one term as the co-presiding officer of an Eastern Star Chapter, known as the Worthy Patron. (In OES, the ladies are in charge.)

But, Brother Andy Miller has exceeded all other members of Sylvan Hills in this arena, serving as the Worthy Grand Patron of the Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in Arkansas in 2013.
