Sylvan Hills Masonic  Lodge in Sherwood responded to the immense need created by the recent hurricanes by holding food drives for the Arkansas Foodbank Network.

This agency is helping provide food and essential needs for the thousands of evacuees now in Arkansas.

The Lodge responded rapidly to the need, collecting nearly 900 pounds of food and paper goods, starting on Saturday, September 3, 2005.  These donations were delivered to the Foodbank warehouse in Little Rock.

In addition, the members donated almost $600.00 in cash to the Foodbank.  The Foodbank tells us they can provide 6 meals for every dollar donated.  (Through matching funds.)
